Happy 12-12-12! We are nearing the big day (Christmas) and I'm sure the holiday parties are starting to pile up and blur together. At least that is the case here in Dakar. We are taking every little opportunity we can to celebrate the season. I've always been a fan of eggnog even the store bought Target brand but I had no idea that homemade eggnog would be 100% times better. Of course as most Happy Hour recipes, I can't find eggnog in Dakar so away to the bar we go (or Kitchen for this one).
Amaretto Spiced Eggnog
In a large bowl beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Add the yolks, honey and beat well. Stir in milk, brandy, amaretto, and vanilla. Chill for several hours. Fold in whipped cream when ready to serve saving a bit to garnish on top. Sprinkle with nutmeg and serve cold.

Just to note: there are many recipes around the web that have you cook the egg yolks and milk. You could then add the brandy and Amaretto. This yields about 16 1/2 cup servings. If you are expecting a larger party you could always double the recipe.
Definitely let guests know if it is made with raw eggs by making a cute little sign to place next to your punch bowl. And don't forget to have the nutmeg out so guests can garnish their own drinks!
